Section 34-4-29 Revocation or suspension - Procedure generally; grounds; notice and hearing required before denial, suspension, or revocation; administrative fines. (a) The board may revoke or suspend licenses as provided in this section. (b) The board may, upon its own motion, and shall, upon the verified complaint in writing of any person containing evidence, documentary or otherwise, that makes out a prima facie case, investigate the actions of any auctioneer, apprentice auctioneer, or any person who assumes to act in either capacity, and hold a hearing on the complaint. (c) The board may suspend or revoke any license which has been issued based on false or fraudulent representations. Section 34-43-6 Alabama Board of Massage Therapy. (a) There is created the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy. The purpose of the board is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by ensuring that licensed massage therapists, massage therapy schools, and massage therapy instructors meet prescribed standards of education, competency, and practice. To accomplish this mission, the board shall establish standards pursuant to this chapter to complete all board functions in a timely and effective manner and to provide open and immediate access to all relevant public information. Section 34-43-9 Application for license; educational requirements. (a) A person desiring to be licensed as a massage therapist shall apply to the board on forms provided by the board. Unless licensed pursuant to subsection (b), applicants for licensure shall submit evidence satisfactory to the board that they have met each of the following requirements: (1) Satisfactorily completed a minimum of 500 hours of supervised courses of instruction which shall include, but not be limited to, anatomy, pathology, physiology, massage techniques, clinical practices, ethics, health, hygiene, and related subjects. (a) Each license or permit issued by the Commissioner of Conservation and Natural Resources or his or her authorized agent shall state the name of the applicant. The commission shall do the following: (1) Study the operational and financial condition of the current 911 systems within the State of Alabama and publish a report detailing the same.
