Section 32-6-156 Disposition of fees. The proceeds of any fees collected under this division except for college or university commemorative tag fees, are hereby appropriated for each fiscal year to the board of corrections and may be used to pay salaries and other expenses of the board; provided, however, that the expenditure of the funds so appropriated shall be budgeted and allotted pursuant to Article 4 of Chapter 4 of Title 41 and limited to the amount appropriated. Any fees collected for college or university commemorative tags shall be distributed to, and are hereby appropriated for, each fiscal year to the general scholarship funds of the college or university whose tag is purchased for scholarship grants to Alabama resident students only. These fees represent a charitable contribution from the purchaser to the general scholarship fund of that institution. (Acts 1975, 3rd Ex.
