Section 41-23-82 Creation; composition; purpose; supervision. (a) The Alabama Energy and Residential
Codes Board is established. (b) The board shall consist of 15 members appointed by the Governor
and two additional members, numbered 16 and 17, appointed by the Chair of the Permanent Joint
Legislative Committee on Energy Policy. The members appointed by the Governor shall be legal
residents of the state, and shall be selected on the basis of their representation of the
following organizations, industries, entities, and professions: (1) One member shall represent
the Home Builders Association. (2) One member shall represent the Board of General Contractors.
(3) One member shall represent the State Board of Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration.

Section 34-14A-20 Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund; Alabama Construction Trade Advisory
Council; applications for funding; program guidelines. (a) The Alabama Construction Trade
Academy Fund is established in the State Treasury. The fund shall be comprised of federal,
state, and private funding through direct budgetary funding and grants for the expansion of
construction trade education. To the extent practicable, monies in the fund shall be used
to leverage other forms of funding from private sources. A percentage of matching funds, as
established by the advisory council, must come from private, non-governmental sources. The
board may not use more than 15 percent of the monies in the fund for administrative and operational

Section 34-8-2 Licensure and classification of contractors. (a) Any person desiring to be licensed
or desiring a renewal of an existing license as a general contractor in this state shall be
a citizen of the United States or, if not a citizen of the United States, a person who is
legally present in the United States with appropriate documentation from the federal government,
and shall make and file with the board, not less than 30 days prior to any regular meeting
thereof, a written application on a form as prescribed for examination by the board and the
application shall be accompanied by three hundred dollars ($300) for a new application or

Section 34-36-3 Definitions. The following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed
to them used in this chapter, for the purposes of this chapter, unless the context clearly

Section 40-12-255 Manufactured homes. (a) Every person, firm, or corporation who owns, maintains
or keeps in this state a manufactured home as defined according to subsection (n) of this
section, except a manufactured home that constitutes a part of the inventory of a manufacturer
or dealer, shall pay an annual registration fee of $24 for an owner occupied single wide (one
