Section 34-27C-13 Violations. THIS SECTION WAS AMENDED BY ACT 2019-230 IN THE 2019 REGULAR SESSION, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2019. THIS IS NOT IN THE CURRENT CODE SUPPLEMENT. (a) A violation of this chapter by a security officer or an armed security officer shall be punishable by a fine of not less than seventy-five dollars ($75) nor more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) per violation and may result in the probation, revocation, or suspension of the license or certification, or both, of the violator. (b) Any person who practices or offers to practice as a security officer or an armed security officer in this state without a license or certification issued and approved by the board shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Section 34-27C-7 Application for license or certification; renewal; fees. (a) Within 30 days after initial employment, a security officer or armed security officer shall apply to the board for a license or certification. On or after May 21, 2009, all security officers or armed security officers not exempted under Section 34-27C-17, shall apply to the board for a license or certification in accordance with this chapter.
