Section 16-13A-12 Bonding. (a) The following officers and employees of a local board of education
shall be bonded in amounts fixed by the local board of education and approved by the State
Superintendent of Education: (1) Local superintendents of education. (2) Chief school financial
officers. (3) Any other employee of a local board handling local board of education funds
as required by the board. (b) The Chief Education Financial Officer shall be bonded in an
amount fixed by the State Superintendent of Education and approved by the State Board of Education.

Section 34-22-22 Continuing education requirements; suspension and reinstatement; renewal;
registration certificate; waiver of registration and fees. (a) All registered optometrists
licensed in the State of Alabama are required to take annual courses of study in subjects
relating to the practice of optometry. The length of study shall be prescribed by the board
but shall not exceed 25 clock hours in any calendar year. Licensees approved by the board
to use pharmaceutical agents shall be required to take not less than 20 nor more than 25 hours

Section 34-27A-19 Continuing education requirements; regulations; requirement for reinstatement.
(a) As a prerequisite to renewal of a license to appraise real estate, the licensed real estate
appraiser, licensed for any classification under this article, shall present evidence satisfactory

Section 34-34A-13 Expiration of license; renewal. (a) Any license issued under this chapter
expires two years after it is issued unless renewed in the manner prescribed by the board.
(b) An applicant for renewal of a license must have satisfactorily maintained continuing education

Section 5-26-10 Continuing education for mortgage loan originators. (1) In general. In order
to meet the annual continuing education requirements referred to in Section 5-26-9(1)(b),
a licensed mortgage loan originator shall complete at least eight hours of education approved
in accordance with subsection (2), which shall include at least: (a) Three hours of federal
law and regulations; (b) Two hours of ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer
protection, and fair lending issues; and (c) Two hours of training related to lending standards

Section 16-23-16.1 Creation of Professional Teachers Standards Commission; designation or development
of entry-level pre-certification examination for teacher candidates. (a) The Legislature finds
that Alabama is alone among the southern states in not testing teacher candidates before allowing
them in the classroom, and acknowledges that the need exists to establish, maintain, and enforce
minimum professional standards for teacher candidates in the State of Alabama. In response
to such need, there is hereby created a Professional Teachers Standards Commission (the commission)
