Section 39-2-12 Partial and final payments of contractors by awarding authorities. (a) As used in this section the following words shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows: (1) CONTRACTOR. (a) The State Board of Medical Examiners may, in its discretion and subject to rules and regulations promulgated by the board, issue a certificate of qualification without examination in behalf of full-time employed physicians teaching in any medical college in Alabama, approved by the Association of American Medical Colleges or the board. A person who is a graduate of a college of veterinary medicine not accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association shall be eligible to take the regularly scheduled state licensing examination given by the board upon furnishing all the following required documents or items: (1) The certificate of the American Veterinary Medical Association Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG). The board shall give an appropriate examination to every applicant who complies with Section 34-24-211 and who pays the fee prescribed for the examination.
