Section 16-44B-1 Compact. ARTICLE I PURPOSE It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to education success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by: A. Facilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district(s) or variations in entrance/age requirements. B. Facilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content or assessment. C. Facilitating the qualification and eligibility for enrollment, educational programs, and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic, and social activities. D. Section 34-41-19 Denial, suspension, or revocation of license. The board may refuse to grant or renew, or may suspend or revoke the license of any person licensed under this chapter who: (1) Has violated this chapter or any rule or regulation of the board. (2) Has been convicted of a misdemeanor under this chapter. Section 34-14-9 Complaint and hearing; appeal; disciplinary actions. (a) Any person wishing to make a complaint against a licensee or apprentice under this chapter shall reduce the same to writing and file his or her complaint with the board within one year from the date of the action upon which the complaint is based. Section 34-17A-8 Application. (a) Each applicant for licensure as a practicing marriage and family therapist shall submit to the board a completed application on forms prescribed by the board. The completed application shall contain the following information: (1) Satisfactory evidence that the applicant is of good moral character and has not engaged or is not engaged in any practice or conduct that would make the applicant ineligible to receive a license pursuant to Section 34-17A-14. Section 34-40-11 Hearing upon application or filing of charges; procedure; appeal. (a) Any person whose application for a license is denied is entitled to a hearing before the board if the person submits a written request to the board.
