Section 34-14B-5 Registration or renewal fees. The applicant shall pay to the Building Commission a registration or renewal fee of three hundred dollars ($300) per calendar year; provided, however, that the registration or renewal fee may be adjusted by the Building Commission as may be necessary to cover the costs and expenses of performing the duties of the Building Commission as required by this chapter, it being intended that the registration and renewal fees shall not produce a profit to the State of Alabama. Prior to any adjustment to the registration or renewal fee, the Building Commission shall certify to the Legislative Council of the Legislature that the adjustment is necessary in order to comply with the provisions of this chapter. Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation. Section 38-15-6 Fees. (a)(1) The department may charge a fee for the registration. The fee may be set by rule of the department and may be based on the type of facility and the capacity of the facility.
