Section 34-27-66 Examination and license requirements; issuance and renewal of license; inactive status; change of address. (a) Any person desiring to act as a seller of vacation time-sharing plans shall file with the commission a written application upon such form as the commission shall designate and shall pass to the satisfaction of the commission the examination hereinafter prescribed. (b) Prerequisites for taking the vacation time-sharing sales examination are as follows: (1) Evidence satisfactory to the commission that the applicant bears a good reputation for honesty and truthfulness. To increase public confidence in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer has had a full opportunity to attempt settlement with the Department of Revenue based, among other things, on the hazards of litigation.
