Section 26-16-6 Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board - Duties and functions of board and department. (a) The state board shall do all of the following: (1) Meet not less than twice annually at the times prescribed in Section 26-16-5(a). (2) Transmit to the Governor a list of individuals recommended to fill the position of director. (b) The department, with the approval of the state board, shall do all of the following: (1) Annually develop a state plan for the distribution of funds from the trust fund. The plan shall assure that an equal opportunity exists for establishment of prevention programs and receipt of trust fund money among all geographic areas in this state. The plan shall be transmitted to the Speaker of the House, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, to the Governor, and to the Government Finance and Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives, or its successor, and the Committee on Finance and Taxation General Fund of the Senate, or its successor. Section 34-13-56 Grounds for revocation, suspension, or refusal to issue or renew licenses, etc.; hearing; fines. (a) The board may refuse to license any person or establishment for violation of this chapter. If the board refuses to issue, grant, or renew a license based on a violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, violations listed in subsection (c), the licensee or prospective licensee may request a public hearing before the board to appeal the action of the board. The request for a public hearing shall be submitted to the board in writing within 14 calendar days after the date of the refusal. Section 34-14C-6 Denial, suspension, or revocation of license; hearing; notice, penalties; appeal. (a) The board may deny, suspend, or revoke a license as provided in this section. Section 34-16-7 Exemptions. The following persons shall be exempt from licensure or permitting pursuant to this chapter: (1) Any student who is enrolled in a formal American sign language program, a formal interpreter training program, or a formal interpreter or transliterator internship program. The student shall be allowed to interpret or transliterate as part of his or her training for a maximum of 16 weeks in an educational setting or 120 hours in an agency or business. Section 34-25A-5 Application for licensure or registration. (a) Except as provided in subsection (h) or (i), no person shall administer prosthetic, orthotic, or pedorthic care in this state unless licensed or registered to do so in accordance with this chapter.
