Section 11-50-391 Creation. Any two or more municipalities are hereby empowered and authorized
to cause to be organized and incorporated a gas district as a public corporation with all
the power and authority provided in this article for the purpose of securing for such municipalities
a supply of natural or artificial gas and for the purpose of transporting gas and for the
purpose of the local distribution and sale of gas and gas services in any one or more of such
municipalities or for any one or more of such purposes. Such power and authority shall be

Section 11-49-20 Exclusive rights of municipalities as to establishment, regulation, etc.,
of ferries. (a) The mayor and council or other governing bodies of incorporated municipalities
in this state have the exclusive power and authority to establish or authorize the establishment
of ferries on rivers which in whole or in part constitute the dividing line between two counties
in this state at points touching such incorporated municipalities and to regulate the same.

Section 40-28-3 Counties to share payments with municipalities served by T.V.A.; basis for
allocation of payments to counties served by T.V.A. (a) Distribution of the in-lieu-of-taxes
payments of T.V.A. by the state to the served counties shall be made to the governing bodies
