Section 16-18A-4 Powers and duties. The purpose of the authority shall be to assist institutions for higher education in the construction, financing and refinancing of the projects. The exercise by the authority of the powers conferred by this chapter shall be deemed and held to be the performance of an essential public function. For the purpose of this chapter, the authority shall have the powers and duties set forth in this section. (1) To adopt an official seal and alter the same at its pleasure. (2) To sue and be sued in contract and in tort and to complain and defend in all courts of law and equity. (3) To maintain an office at such place or places as it may designate. Section 34-9-6.1 Mobile dental facilities or portable dental operations. (a) For purposes of this section, the following words have the following meanings: (1) DENTAL HOME. The dental home is the ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, inclusive of all aspects of oral health care, delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. (2) MOBILE DENTAL FACILITY. Any self-contained facility in which dentistry or dental hygiene is practiced which may be moved, towed, or transported from one location to another. (3) OPERATOR. A person licensed to practice dentistry in this state or an entity which is approved as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code which employs dentists licensed in the state to operate a mobile dental facility or portable dental operation. Section 5-5A-44 Acquisition of majority of voting shares of a bank; procedure. (a) No person, acting directly or indirectly or through or in concert with one or more persons, may acquire control of a state bank or of any corporation or other entity having control of a state bank, unless an application is filed with the superintendent for review of the proposed transaction and for his or her action, if any, as provided in this section.
