Section 27-13-121 Approved courses. To qualify for the insurance premium reduction described in Section 27-13-120, the motor vehicle accident prevention course shall be sponsored by the National Safety Council, the American Automobile Association, or the AARP or shall be an equivalent course approved by the Department of Public Safety. The course shall consist of not less than six classroom or online hours of instruction, the instructors for the course shall be certified by the sponsoring entity, and the contents of the course shall be outlined by the sponsoring entity. Section 32-8-84 Unclaimed motor vehicles; suspension of registration of stolen or converted vehicles. (a) The following shall be considered an unclaimed motor vehicle: (1) A motor vehicle left unattended on a public road or highway for more than 48 hours. (2) A motor vehicle, not left on private property for repairs, that has remained on private or other public property for a period of more than 48 hours without the consent of the owner or lessee of the property. (3) A motor vehicle, left on private property for repairs, that has not been reclaimed within 48 hours from the latter of either the date the repairs were completed or the agreed upon redemption date. (b) A person, as defined in Section 40-12-240, in possession of an unclaimed motor vehicle shall report the motor vehicle as unclaimed to the Department of Revenue within five calendar days from the date the motor vehicle first was considered unclaimed. Section 32-7A-4 Liability insurance required. (a) No person shall operate, register, or maintain registration of, and no owner shall permit another person to operate, register, or maintain registration of, a motor vehicle designed to be used on a public highway unless the motor vehicle is covered by a liability insurance policy, a commercial automobile liability insurance policy, motor vehicle liability bond, or deposit of cash. Section 32-8-34 Designated agents of department; bond of title service providers. (a) Each judge of probate, commissioner of licenses, director of revenue, or other county official in this state authorized and required by law to issue motor vehicle license plates shall by virtue of his or her office be a designated agent of the department.
