Section 32-6-253 Construction of provisions; penalty for violation. The provisions of this division shall not affect the registration and licensing of motor vehicles as required by other provisions of the Code of Alabama 1975, but shall be cumulative thereto. Any person violating the provisions of this division or any person who (i) fraudulently gives false or fictitious information in any application for a special license plate, as authorized in this division, (ii) conceals a material fact, or (iii) otherwise commits a fraud in any such application or in the use of any special license plate issued shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor as defined by the Code of Alabama 1975. Section 40-12-290 Registration of vintage vehicle. (a) All municipalities shall have the following powers: (1) To license any exhibition, trade, business, vocation, occupation, or profession not prohibited by the Constitution or laws of the state which may be engaged in or carried on in the municipality. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to mutilate or alter, for the purpose of deception, any motor vehicle tag, plate, or validation stamp or to use upon any motor vehicle any tags, plates, or validation stamps in imitation of or substitution for authorized issued tags, plates, or validation stamps.
