Section 23-1-60 Authority of Director of Transportation to alter plans or character of work, determine need for extra work, make supplemental agreements, etc. The following implementation of the provisions of the State Department of Transportation standard specifications for highways and bridges is hereby adopted as a statutory provision, any and all other laws in conflict notwithstanding: (1) ALTERATION OF PLANS OR CHARACTER OF WORK. The Director of Transportation shall have the authority to make, at any time during the progress of any construction on any highway project under his or her jurisdiction, such changes or alterations of construction details, including alterations in grade or alignment of roadway or bridges, or both, as may be necessary or desirable for the successful completion of the project. Section 23-7-6 Funding; pledge of revenues. (a) The following sources may be used to capitalize the bank and for the bank to carry out its purposes: (1) An annual contribution, as determined by the Director of the Department of Transportation and approved by the Governor, of an amount not to exceed revenues produced by one cent ($.01) a gallon of the tax on gasoline imposed pursuant to subdivision (1) of subsection (a) of Section 40-17-325. Section 22-28-12 Motor vehicle emissions. (a) As the state of knowledge and technology relating to the control of emissions from motor vehicles may permit or make appropriate, and in furtherance of the purposes of this chapter, the commission may provide by rules and regulations for the control of emissions from any class or classes of motor vehicles. Section 40-17-371 Cost of collection; distribution of tax proceeds. (a) The Alabama Department of Revenue shall retain one-quarter of one percent (0.25%) of the tax proceeds, less any refunds, from this additional excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for its cost of collection. The department may adopt rules and such forms as may be necessary for the administration of the excise tax provided for in this article. Section 8-17-91 Disposition of funds; overpayments.
