Section 32-5A-216 Pedestrian soliciting rides or business or fishing. (a) No person shall stand
in a roadway for the purpose of soliciting a ride. (b) No person shall stand on a highway
for the purpose of soliciting employment, business, or contributions from the occupant of
any vehicle, nor for the purpose of distributing any article, unless otherwise authorized
by official permit of the governing body of the city or county having jurisdiction over the
highway. (c) No person shall stand on or in proximity to a street or highway for the purpose
of soliciting the watching or guarding of any vehicle while parked or about to be parked on
a street or highway. (d) No person shall fish from a bridge, viaduct, or trestle, or the approaches
thereto, within the State of Alabama, unless otherwise authorized by the governing body of

Section 32-7A-4 Liability insurance required. (a) No person shall operate, register, or maintain
registration of, and no owner shall permit another person to operate, register, or maintain
registration of, a motor vehicle designed to be used on a public highway unless the motor

Section 37-3-13 Contract carrier permits - Generally. (a) No person shall engage in the business
of a contract carrier by motor vehicle in intrastate commerce on any highway of this state
unless there is in force with respect to such carrier a permit issued by the commission, authorizing

Section 32-5A-150 Obedience to signal indicating approach of train. (a) Whenever any person
driving a vehicle approaches a railroad grade crossing under any of the circumstances stated
in this section, the driver of such vehicle shall stop within 50 feet but not less than 15
feet from the nearest rail of such railroad, and shall not proceed until he or she can do
