Section 34-13-1 Definitions. (a) For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACCREDITED SCHOOL or COLLEGE OF MORTUARY SCIENCE. A school or college approved by the Alabama Board of Funeral Service and which maintains a course of instruction of not less than 48 calendar weeks or four academic quarters or college terms and which gives a course of instruction in the fundamental subjects including, but not limited to, the following: a. Mortuary management and administration. b. Legal medicine and toxicology as it pertains to funeral directing. c. Public health, hygiene, and sanitary science. d. Mortuary science, to include embalming technique, in all its aspects; chemistry of embalming, color harmony; discoloration, its causes, effects, and treatment; treatment of special cases; restorative art; funeral management; and professional ethics. e. Section 13A-6-4 Criminally negligent homicide. (a) A person commits the crime of criminally negligent homicide if he or she causes the death of another person by criminal negligence. (b) The jury may consider statutes and ordinances regulating the actor's conduct in determining whether the actor is culpably negligent under subsection (a). Section 13A-8-170 Violation and penalties. (a) No person shall drive his or her motor vehicle off the premises of an establishment where gasoline is offered for retail sale after dispensing gasoline into the fuel tank of his or her motor vehicle if the person fails to remit payment or make an authorized charge for the gasoline that was dispensed. (b) A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. (c) The driver's license of a person convicted for a second or subsequent offense of violating this section shall be suspended as follows: (1) On a second conviction, the driver's license of the person shall be suspended for a period of six months. (2) On a third or subsequent conviction, the driver's license of the person shall be suspended for a period of one year. Section 32-6-19 Penalties - Violation by person whose license or driving privilege has been cancelled, etc.; impoundment of vehicle. Section 32-5-316 Courts may prohibit operation of motor vehicles by persons convicted of violation of automobile laws. Whenever a defendant is convicted by any court of competent jurisdiction of operating a motor vehicle in violation of any criminal statute or ordinance, the court trying the case, in its discretion, may, in addition to the other punishment fixed by law, enter an order forbidding such person to drive a motor vehicle upon any street or highway in the State of Alabama for a period to be specified by the court, or perpetually, as the court may determine.
