Section 31-2-60 Organization of Military Department; qualifications, appointment, rank, etc., of employees of department; applicability of Merit System to department officers and employees. The Adjutant General may have to assist him or her in performance of his or her duties and to perform the various duties of the Military Department such number of officers and employees as may be approved by the Governor, officers, and employees appointed by the Adjutant General subject to the approval of the Governor and subject to the Merit System wherever applicable if the appointments are approved by the Governor. (a) As used in this section, "personal watercraft" means a vessel which uses an inboard motor powering a water jet pump as its primary source of motive power and which is designed to be operated by a person sitting, standing, or kneeling on the vessel, rather than the conventional manner of sitting or standing inside the vessel.
