Section 27-7-23 Temporary license - Generally. (a) The commissioner may, in his or her discretion, issue a temporary producer license without requiring an examination or prelicensing course if the commissioner deems the temporary license is necessary for the servicing of an insurance business in any of the following cases: (1) To the surviving spouse or court-appointed personal representative of a licensed producer who dies or becomes mentally or physically disabled to allow adequate time for the sale of the insurance business owned by the producer or for the recovery or return of the producer to the business or to provide for the training and licensing of new personnel to operate the producer's business. (2) To a member or employee of a business entity which is licensed as a producer, upon the death or disability of the individual designated in the business entity application or the license. (a) The board shall issue licenses authorized by this chapter to all qualified individuals in accordance with rules or regulations established by the board. (a) In addition to the other powers conferred by state law, a licensing board shall have the authority to do all of the following: (1) Take adverse action against the multistate licensure privilege of a nurse to practice within that party state. a. Only the home state shall have the power to take adverse action against the license of a nurse issued by the home state. b. Section 40-17-168.5 Surety bond. (a) Upon approval of the application by the department, the applicant must file with the department a surety bond. The bond amount for an applicant for a license as a public seller of CNG/LNG or a fleet producer of CNG/LNG shall be a minimum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) or in the approximate amount of twice the average monthly tax liability, whichever is greater.
