Section 32-8-2 Definitions. For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: (1) CURRENT ADDRESS. A new address different from the address shown on the application or on the certificate of title. The owner, within 30 days after the address is changed from that shown on the application or on the certificate of title, shall notify the department of the change of address in the manner prescribed by the department. (2) DEALER. A person licensed as an automobile or motor vehicle dealer, or travel trailer dealer and engaged regularly in the business of buying, selling, or exchanging motor vehicles, trailers, semitrailers, trucks, tractors or other character of commercial or industrial motor vehicles, or travel trailers in this state, and having in this state an established place of business. (a) This chapter shall provide coverage for the policies and contracts specified in subsection (b) as follows: (1) To persons who, regardless of where they reside (except for non-resident certificate holders under group policies or contracts), are the beneficiaries, assignees, or payees of the persons covered under subdivision (2). Section 27-7-4.4 Fingerprints. (a) In order to make a determination of insurance producer license eligibility, the commissioner is authorized to require fingerprints of initial resident applicants for an insurance producer license and to submit the fingerprints and the fee required to perform the criminal history record checks to the Alabama Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for state and national criminal history record checks. (b) The commissioner shall require a criminal history record check on each initial resident applicant for insurance producer license in accordance with this section. Section 8-20-5 Limitations on cancellations, modifications, terminations, and nonrenewals of franchise relationships. (a) Notwithstanding the terms, provisions, or conditions of any agreement or franchise or notwithstanding the terms or provisions of any waiver, no manufacturer shall cancel, terminate, modify, fail to renew, or refuse to continue any franchise relationship with a licensed new motor vehicle dealer unless the manufacturer has: (1) Satisfied the notice requirement of this section.
