Section 25-4-10 Employment. (a) Subject to other provisions of this chapter, "employment" means: (1) Any service performed prior to January 1, 1978, which was employment as defined in this section prior to such date and, subject to the other provisions of this section, services performed for remuneration after December 31, 1977, including service in interstate commerce, by: a. Any officer of a corporation; or b. Any individual who, under the usual common law rules applicable in determining the employer-employee relationship, has the status of an employee; or c. The Emergency Medical Services Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact is hereby enacted into law and entered into with all other jurisdictions legally joining therein in form substantially as follows: SECTION 1. An insurer that takes an action which adversely affects a subject of abuse, or a related individual or entity, based on an abuse-related medical condition, abuse-related claim, abuse status, or association or relationship with a subject of abuse, pursuant to an individual or group insurance policy or health benefit plan, shall advise the applicant or the insured of the specific reasons for the action in writing. Section 27-10-27 Evidence of surplus line insurance; changes; issuance of false certificate and failure to notify insured of material change. (a) Upon placing a surplus line coverage, the broker shall promptly issue and deliver to the insured evidence of the insurance, consisting either of the policy as issued by the insurer or, if such policy is not then available, the surplus line broker's certificate.
