Section 27-34-5 Applicability of chapter - Exceptions. (a) Nothing contained in this chapter
shall be so construed as to affect or apply to: (1) Grand or subordinate lodges of societies,
orders, or associations now doing business in this state which provide benefits exclusively
through local or subordinate lodges; (2) Grand or subordinate lodges of societies, orders,
or associations now doing business in this state which provide for a death benefit of not
more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) to any one person, provided that no commission or
other direct compensation is paid with respect to the sale of such death benefit contracts;
(3) Orders, societies, or associations which admit to membership only persons engaged in one
or more crafts or hazardous occupations, in the same or similar lines of business, and the
ladies' societies or ladies' auxiliaries to such orders, societies, or associations; (4) Domestic

Section 27-2B-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, these terms shall have the following
meanings: (1) ADJUSTED RBC REPORT. An RBC report which has been adjusted by the commissioner
in accordance with subsection (e) of Section 27-2B-3. (2) CORRECTIVE ORDER. An order issued
by the commissioner specifying corrective actions which the commissioner has determined are
required. (3) DOMESTIC INSURER. Any insurer domiciled in this state. (4) FOREIGN INSURER.

Section 27-44-3 Scope of chapter. (a) This chapter shall provide coverage for the policies
and contracts specified in subsection (b) as follows: (1) To persons who, regardless of where
they reside (except for non-resident certificate holders under group policies or contracts),
are the beneficiaries, assignees, or payees of the persons covered under subdivision (2).
(2) To persons who are owners of or certificate holders under the policies or contracts, other

purposes of this section, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) CANCER.

Section 27-44-5 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following
meanings, respectively, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ACCOUNT. Either
