Section 27-31A-8 Notice and registration requirements of purchasing groups. (a) A purchasing
group which intends to do business in this state shall, prior to doing business, furnish notice
to the commissioner which shall include all of the following: (1) Identify the state in which
the group is domiciled. (2) Identify all other states in which the group intends to do business.
(3) Specify the lines and classifications of liability insurance which the purchasing group
intends to purchase. (4) Identify the insurance company or companies from which the group
intends to purchase its insurance and the domicile of any company. (5) Specify the method
by which, and the person or persons, if any, through whom insurance will be offered to its
members whose risks are resident or located in this state. (6) Identify the principal place

Section 27-29-3 Acquisition of control of, or merger with, domestic insurers. (a)(1) No person
other than the issuer shall make a tender offer for or a request or invitation for tenders
of, or enter into any agreement to exchange securities for, seek to acquire, or acquire in
the open market any voting security of a domestic insurer if, after the consummation thereof,

Section 27-31A-4 Risk retention groups not chartered in this state. Risk retention groups chartered
and licensed in states other than this state and seeking to do business as a risk retention
group in this state shall comply with the laws of this state as follows: (1) NOTICE OF OPERATIONS

The commissioner may act as the group-wide supervisor for any internationally active insurance
group in accordance with this section. The commissioner may otherwise acknowledge another

Section 27-7-1 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) BUSINESS ENTITY. A corporation,

Section 27-36A-4 Actuarial opinion of reserves. (a) Actuarial opinion prior to the operative
date of the valuation manual as defined by Section 27-36A-15. (1) GENERAL. Every life insurance
company doing business in this state shall annually submit the opinion of a qualified actuary
as to whether the reserves and related actuarial items held in support of the policies and
contracts specified by the commissioner by regulation are computed appropriately, are based
on assumptions which satisfy contractual provisions, are consistent with prior reported amounts,

Section 25-5-8 Employers' options to secure payment of compensation. (a) Option to insure risks.
An employer subject to this chapter may secure the payment of compensation under this chapter
by insuring and keeping insured his or her liability in some insurance corporation, association,
organization, insurance association, corporation, or association formed of employers and workers
or formed by a group of employers to insure the risks under this chapter, operating by mutual

Section 27-29A-6 Exemption. (a) An insurer shall be exempt from the requirements of this chapter,
if it meets both of the following: (1) The insurer has annual direct written and unaffiliated

Section 27-31B-3 Licensing. (a) Any captive insurance company, when permitted by its articles
of association, charter, or other organizational document, may apply to the commissioner for
