Section 27-36A-9 Reserve valuation method - Annuity and pure endowment benefits. (a) This section
shall apply to all annuity and pure endowment contracts other than group annuity and pure
endowment contracts purchased under a retirement plan or plan of deferred compensation, established
or maintained by an employer, including a partnership or sole proprietorship, or by an employee
organization, or by both, other than a plan providing individual retirement accounts or individual
retirement annuities under Section 408 of the Internal Revenue Code, as now or hereafter amended.
(b) Reserves according to the commissioner's annuity reserves method for benefits under annuity
or pure endowment contracts, excluding any disability and accidental death benefits in the
contracts, shall be the greatest of the respective excesses of the present values, at the
date of valuation, of the future guaranteed benefits, including guaranteed nonforfeiture benefits,

Section 45-37-123.134 Purchase of permissive service credit. (a) In general. If a member makes
one or more contributions to the plan to purchase permissive service credit under the plan,
the requirements of § 415, Internal Revenue Code, shall be treated as met with respect to
these contributions if: (1) The requirements of § 415(b), Internal Revenue Code, are met,
determined by treating the accrued benefit derived from all such contributions as an annual
benefit for purposes of § 415(b), Internal Revenue Code, provided, however, the plan shall

Section 45-37-123.108 Direct rollovers. Except as otherwise specifically provided in this section,
this section shall be effective as of January 1, 1993. (1) ROLLOVERS GENERALLY. a. Notwithstanding

Section 27-36A-8 Reserve valuation method - Life insurance and endowment benefits. (a) Except

Section 45-37-123.106 Minimum distribution requirements. (a) General rules. (1) EFFECTIVE DATE.
Except as otherwise provided herein, the provisions of this section shall apply for purposes
of determining required minimum distributions for calendar years beginning on and after January

Section 45-37-123.131 Maximum annual benefit. (a) Notwithstanding the foregoing and subject
to the exceptions and adjustments below, effective for limitation years ending after December
31, 2001, the annual benefit otherwise payable to a member under the plan at any time shall

Section 45-49A-63 Definitions. As used in this part, the following words and terms shall have
meanings as follows: (1) ANNUITY STARTING DATE. The first day for which a benefit is payable
