Section 11-49B-22 Taxes; exemptions; reporting credit sales; lien security; state sales tax provisions applicable; charge for collecting tax; voting. (a) The authority shall, subject to a referendum in the counties it proposes to serve, levy, in addition to all other taxes, including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts license taxes, a 1/4 percent privilege license tax against gross sales or gross receipts, provided, however, that the rate of such tax on any person, firm, or corporation engaged in the type of business described in Section 40-23-2(4) shall be an amount equal to 1/32 percent of the gross proceeds from sales described in such section. It shall be the duty of the probate judge or license commissioner to issue the licenses herein prescribed on a form to be furnished and prescribed by the state Department of Revenue and to remit such money to the Department of Revenue on or before the tenth of the month following the month of issuance. Section 27-21B-9 Garnishment of wages. (a) The Alabama Medicaid Agency may garnish the wages, salary, or other employment income of any person who is required by a court or administrative order to provide coverage of the costs of health services to a child who is eligible for medical assistance and has received payment from a third party for the cost of services for the child but has not used the payments to reimburse the other parent or guardian of the child, the provider of services, or the Alabama Medicaid Agency for its payments made. Current or past due child support shall have priority over claims for the costs of the services.
