Section 45-31-141.09 Board of directors. (a) The affairs and business of each district shall be managed by a board of directors composed of seven members. The initial members shall consist of seven members from the existing board of directors of the volunteer fire department serving the district. No person shall serve on the board unless the person is a qualified elector and resides in the district and is over the age of 21. Members of the board of directors of a district shall serve a term of four years; provided, however, that the initial terms shall be as follows: Of the seven members first elected, two shall be elected for a term of one year, two shall be elected for a term of two years, and three shall be elected for a term of four years.
