Section 27-60-2 Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact. The State of Alabama hereby agrees to the following interstate compact known as the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact: ARTICLE I. PURPOSES. The purposes of this compact are, through means of joint and cooperative action among the compacting states: 1. To promote and protect the interest of consumers of individual and group annuity, life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance products; 2. To develop uniform standards for insurance products covered under the compact; 3. To establish a central clearinghouse to receive and provide prompt review of insurance products covered under the compact and, in certain cases, advertisements related thereto, submitted by insurers authorized to do business in one or more compacting states; 4. Section 45-42-170.20 Solid waste landfill location and operation. (a) In addition to any other provision of law or any rule or regulation by the state or federal government or local government in Limestone County, and specifically Chapter 27, Title 22, as amended, relating to the regulation, operation, or location of any privately-owned or controlled regional landfill for solid waste, the Limestone County Commission shall provide for a referendum on the question of the location, acceptance, or operation of such privately owned or controlled regional landfill for solid waste after the public hearing thereon. The referendum shall be held within 20 days but not less than 10 days after such public hearing.
