Section 23-1-435 (This section terminates April 26, 2018, if no revenue is created.) Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program Committee. (a) There is hereby created the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP) Committee. The appointing authorities shall coordinate their appointments to assure the committee membership is inclusive and reflects the racial, gender, geographic, urban, rural, and economic diversity of the state. There is hereby created the Alabama Transportation Safety Fund in the State Treasury. All proceeds from the revenues designated to the fund less the cost of collection authorized by law shall be deposited into the fund to be expended only as provided in this article. (a) In Etowah County, there is levied a one cent ($0.01) county sales and use tax in all areas of the county, which may become effective no sooner than January 1, 1996.
