Section 27-62-3 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following words have the following meanings: (1) AUTHORIZED INDIVIDUAL. An individual known to and screened by the licensee and determined to be necessary and appropriate to have access to the nonpublic information held by the licensee and its information systems. (2) COMMISSIONER. The Commissioner of Insurance. (3) CONSUMER. Section 22-56-7 Abuse, exploitation, neglect - Providers to implement written policies and procedures. All providers of mental health services in Alabama shall develop and implement written policies and procedures that prohibit abuse, exploitation, or neglect of consumers in programs operated by the providers. At a minimum, these policies and procedures shall accomplish the following: (1) Affirm and safeguard the rights of a consumer stated pursuant to this chapter. (2) Ensure that prompt action is taken to prevent the potential of further abuse while an investigation is in process. The purpose of the state team is to decrease the risk and incidence of unexpected/unexplained child injury and death by undertaking all of the following duties: (1) Identifying factors which make a child at risk for injury or death.
