Section 41-10-751 Definitions. When used in this article, the following terms shall have the
following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) ALABAMA TRUST FUND.
The trust fund of the state created under Amendment 450 to the Constitution of Alabama of
1901, and appearing as ยง219.02 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama
1901, as amended. (2) APPROPRIATED FUNDS. The BP settlement revenues deposited in the special
fund to the extent such revenues are appropriated to the authority pursuant to Section 41-10-759.
(3) AUTHORITY. The Alabama Economic Settlement Authority authorized to be established pursuant
to Section 41-10-752. (4) BONDS. Those bonds, including refunding bonds, issued pursuant to

Section 11-97-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter, and others
evidently intended as the equivalent thereof, shall, in the absence of a clear implication
herein otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations herein: (1) APPLICANT.
A natural person who files a written application with the governing body of any county or

Section 16-6D-4 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have
the following meanings: (1) ACADEMIC YEAR. The 12-month period beginning on July 1 and ending

EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP. A grant made by a scholarship granting organization to an eligible

Section 37-3-32.1 Administration of Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005. (a) Foreign and
domestic motor carriers, motor private carriers, leasing companies, brokers, and freight forwarders
shall not operate in interstate commerce in this state without first registering with a base

Section 27-21A-3 Issuance of certificate of authority. (a)(1) Upon receipt of an application
for issuance of a certificate of authority, the commissioner shall forthwith transmit copies

Section 40-29-23.1 Development and operation of financial institution data match program. (a)
For purposes of this section the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ACCOUNT.
A demand deposit account, checking account, negotiable withdrawal order account, savings account,
time deposit account, or money-market mutual fund account. (2) ACCOUNT HOLDER. A person or
persons authorized to perform transactions on behalf of an account. (3) DELINQUENT TAXPAYER.
A taxpayer with an outstanding tax liability for which a final assessment has been entered
that is no longer subject to appeal under the Alabama Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, so that the
assessment is final, due, and owing, and for whom both of the following conditions are true:

Section 11-101A-8 Powers of authority. (a) In addition to all other powers granted elsewhere
in this chapter, and subject to the express provisions of its certificate of incorporation,
