Section 16-44A-19 Exemption from state taxes; authority to solicit gifts and donations; tax
treatment of gifts, grants, devises, and bequests; liberal construction. (a) The compact shall
be exempt from all taxes of the State of Alabama and its political subdivisions to the same
extent as public schools and colleges. All receipts, from whatever source, are appropriated

Section 22-32-4 Authorization to operate site; users' charges; lease or contract for operation
and disposal of low-level radioactive wastes. (a) The Alabama Department of Energy is authorized
to operate a treatment, storage or disposal site for low-level radioactive wastes pursuant
to any license issued by the Radiation Control Agency. The Alabama Department of Energy is
authorized to charge each user of any licensed site within the state that user's proportionate
share of the costs for handling of the wastes. These costs shall be paid on the basis of a
fee per volume of wastes received at each site. Such fee shall be paid to the Department of

licenses to be filed with county probate judge. No provision of this article shall be construed
as repealing any other law with reference to the requirements regulating the practice of medicine

Section 34-24-521 Definitions. In this compact, the following terms have the following meanings:
(a) BYLAWS. Those bylaws established by the interstate commission pursuant to Section 34-24-530
for its governance, or for directing and controlling its actions and conduct. (b) COMMISSIONER.
The voting representative appointed by each member board pursuant to Section 34-24-530. (c)
