Section 41-16-141 Definitions. For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings: (1) ENERGY COST SAVINGS MEASURE. A training program or new facility or existing facility alteration designed to reduce energy consumption or operating costs, or water and other natural resources consumption, and may include one or more of the following: a. Insulation and reduced air infiltration of the building structure including walls, ceilings, and roofs or systems within the building. b. Storm windows or doors, caulking or weather-stripping, multiglazed windows or doors, heat absorbing or heat reflective glazed and coated window or door systems, additional glazing, reductions in glass area, or other window and door system modifications that reduce energy consumption. c. Automated or computerized energy control systems, including computer software and technical data licenses. d. Heating, ventilating, or air conditioning system modifications or replacements. e....

The Director of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, with the advice and consultation of the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee, is directed to prepare a State Solid Waste Management Plan. (a) The Legislature finds that rural and urban property in Alabama may have areas of contamination which may be addressed via the Alabama Land Recycling and Economic Redevelopment Act, Sections 22-30E-1 through 22-30E-13. Section 16-40-9 Instruction for avoiding child sexual abuse. (a)(1) The Legislature recognizes that Erin Merryn was raped and molested for six and a half years by a neighbor and a family member. She began a crusade her senior year of high school in 2004 to end the silence and shame around sexual abuse. Erin's Law has been adopted in a number of states to help address the problem of child sexual abuse. (2) The intent of Erin's Law is to shatter the silence and stigma around child sexual abuse, and to educate children and empower them to recognize and to report abuse. (3) The Legislature finds that without a specific initiative like Erin's Law, schools generally fail to give young students adequate awareness and a voice in this issue.
