Section 22-14-1 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: (1) BY-PRODUCT MATERIAL. Any radioactive material, except special nuclear material, yielded in, or made radioactive by, exposure to the radiation incident to the process of producing or utilizing special nuclear material. (2) IONIZING RADIATION. Gamma rays and X rays; alpha and beta particles, high-speed electrons, neutrons, protons and other nuclear particles; but not sound or radio waves or visible, infrared or ultraviolet light. (3) LICENSE - GENERAL AND SPECIFIC: a. General License. Section 22-40A-3 Definitions. The following terms shall have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) APPROVED. Authorized, certified, permitted by, or meets standards of a regulatory authority. (2) AUTHORIZED DISPOSAL. (a) The agency shall provide, by rule or regulation, for general or specific licensing of persons to receive, possess or transfer by-product, source, special nuclear materials, devices or equipment utilizing such materials, or any other radioactive materials occurring naturally or produced artificially.
