Section 22-11E-2 Athletic head injury safety training. (a) Each local school system and governing
body of each sport or recreational organization shall develop guidelines and other pertinent
information and forms to inform and educate youth athletes and their parents or guardians
in their program of the nature and risk of concussion and brain injury, including continuing
to play after a suspected concussion or brain injury. On a yearly basis, a concussion and
head injury information sheet shall be signed and returned by the youth athlete and the athlete's
parent or guardian prior to the youth athlete's initiating practice or competition. (b) Each
local school system and sports or recreational organization governing body shall ensure that
coaches receive annual training to learn how to recognize the symptoms of a concussion and
how to seek proper medical treatment for a person suspected of having a concussion. (c) Each

Section 22-11E-1 Legislative findings. (a) The Legislature finds the following: (1) Concussions
are one of the most commonly reported injuries in children and adolescents who participate
in sports and recreational activities. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates
that as many as 3,900,000 sports-related and recreation-related concussions occur in the United
States each year. A concussion is caused by a blow or motion to the head or body that causes
the brain to move rapidly inside the skull. The risk of catastrophic injuries or death is
significant when a concussion or head injury is not properly evaluated and managed. (2) Concussions
are a type of brain injury that can range from mild to severe and can disrupt the way the
brain normally works. Concussions can occur in any organized or unorganized sport or recreational
activity and can result from a fall or from participants colliding with each other, the ground,

Section 41-15B-2.2 Allocation of trust fund revenues. (a) For each fiscal year, beginning October
1, 1999, contingent upon the Children First Trust Fund receiving tobacco revenues and upon
appropriation by the Legislature, an amount of up to and including two hundred twenty-five
thousand dollars ($225,000), or equivalent percentage of the total fund, shall be designated
for the administration of the fund by the council and the Commissioner of Children's Affairs.
(b) For the each fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1999, contingent upon the Children First
Trust Fund receiving tobacco revenues, the remainder of the Children First Trust Fund, in

Section 38-15-4 Registration of certain youth residential institutions or organizations; staff
training plans; rights of children; licensing and inspection of food preparation areas; access
by law enforcement agencies. (a) Commencing on January 1, 2018, the department shall register
any religious, faith-based, or church nonprofit, other nonprofit, or for profit affiliated
youth residential facility, youth social rehabilitation facility, community treatment facility

Section 16-22A-3 Definitions. When used in this chapter only, the following terms shall have
