Section 22-11A-3 Action of health officer upon being notified of diseases; quarantine. Whenever the State Health Officer or his representative, or the county health officer or his representative, is notified of any person or persons afflicted with any of the notifiable diseases or health conditions designated by the State Board of Health, he shall, at his discretion, isolate or quarantine such person or persons as further provided in this article. Such quarantine shall be established and maintained in accordance with the rules adopted by the State Board of Health for the control of the disease with which the person or persons are afflicted. Section 22-11A-8 Health officer to investigate complaints of diseases; afflicted persons to be moved to suitable place; expenses of removal. Whenever complaint is made in writing to the health officer of a county that a person, not at his own home, is afflicted with any of the notifiable diseases or health conditions designated by the State Board of Health, such health officer shall, thoroughly and promptly, investigate said complaint. There shall be in each county having no health officer a county quarantine officer, who shall be a licensed physician and who shall be appointed by the State Committee of Public Health on the recommendation of the county board of health, whose tenure of office shall expire on the election of a county health officer; provided, that in no event shall his term of office extend more than three years from the date of his appointment; and provided further, that the State Committee of Public Health shall have power to remove a quarantine officer at any time, in its judgment, the public good requires such removal.
