Section 2-17-20 Refusal or withdrawal of inspection as to establishments deemed unfit to engage
in business because of convictions based upon acquisition, distribution, etc., of unwholesome,
mislabeled or deceptively packaged food, etc.; appeals from determination and order of commissioner.
The commissioner may for such period or indefinitely, as he deems necessary to effectuate
the purposes of this chapter, refuse to provide or withdraw inspection service under this
chapter with respect to any establishment if he determines, after opportunity for a hearing
is accorded to the applicant for or recipient of such service, that such applicant or recipient
is unfit to engage in any business requiring inspection under this chapter because the applicant

Section 2-15-5 Care and handling of livestock and animal husbandry practices on private property.
(a) For the purpose of this section and Sections 2-4-1 and 13A-11-14, the term livestock shall
include, but is not limited to, bovines, swine, sheep, goats, equine or equidae, ratites,
poultry, pen-raised livestock such as quail, deer, pheasants, or similar livestock, and other

Section 2-8-62 Penalty for failure to deduct and pay over assessment; inspection of books and
records; injunctions. (a) Any dealer, handler, processor, sales market or other purchaser
of swine who willfully fails or refuses to deduct and pay to the Commissioner of Agriculture
and Industries any assessment required to be so deducted and remitted to the commissioner
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, in addition to other penalty
provided by law, shall be fined in an amount equal to three times the amount of the assessment
he failed or refused to collect and remit as required under this article. Any purchaser of
swine who fails or refuses to allow the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries or his
authorized agents and employees to inspect and review his books and records which disclose
his purchases of swine for the purpose of ascertaining the accuracy of amounts deducted and
