Section 32-7A-5 Exceptions. This chapter shall not apply to any of the following vehicles or operators: (1) Trailers as defined in Section 40-12-240, including, but not limited to, semitrailers, travel trailers, boat trailers, pole trailers, and utility trailers. (2) Motor vehicles owned and operated by the United States or any agency thereof, the State of Alabama, or any political or governmental subdivision thereof. (3) Any motor vehicle which is subject to the supervision and regulation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration or the Alabama Public Service Commission and for which the owner and/or operator has filed evidence of financial responsibility, the liability under which is not less than that required of the operator of a motor vehicle under the terms of this chapter. Section 8-12-17 Injunctive relief; famous marks. (a) Subject to the principles of equity, the owner of a mark which is famous and distinctive, inherently or through acquired distinctiveness, in this state shall be entitled to an injunction against another person's commercial use of a mark, if such use begins after the famous mark has become famous and is likely to cause dilution of the famous mark, and to obtain such other relief as is provided in this section. (b) A mark is famous if it is widely recognized by the general consuming public of this state or a significant geographic area in this state as a designation of source of the goods or services or the business of the mark's owner. Any colony or colonies of bees, combs, honey frames, hives, supers or other beekeeping supplies or equipment found to be infected with American Foulbrood or any other infectious or contagious disease of bees which cannot be satisfactorily controlled is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and shall be destroyed by burning by the beekeeper or other person in control of such diseased bees. Section 15-20A-23 Adult sex offender - Relief from residency restriction. (a) A sex offender required to register under this chapter may petition the court for relief from the residency restriction pursuant to subsection (a) of Section 15-20A-11 during the time a sex offender is terminally ill or permanently immobile, or the sex offender has a debilitating medical condition requiring substantial care or supervision or requires placement in a residential health care facility.
