Section 5-19-31 Nonapplicability of chapter to certain transactions; certain laws not repealed
or amended. (a) The provisions of this chapter, except the provisions of subdivision (1) of
Section 5-19-1 and Section 5-19-3, shall not apply (i) to any consumer credit transaction
or other transaction involving an interest in real property or the sale, lease, or mortgage
of an interest in real property where the creditor is exempt from licensing under this chapter,

The DeKalb County Commission shall employ a county engineer, who shall be a thoroughly qualified
and competent, licensed professional civil engineer, possessing all of the qualifications
as specified for county engineers under the general laws of the State of Alabama. The engineer

Section 45-37-123.133 Annual benefit not in excess of $10,000. (a) The plan may pay an annual
benefit to any member in excess of the member's maximum annual benefit if the annual benefit
derived from employer contributions under the plan and all other defined benefit plans maintained
by the county does not in the aggregate exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the limitation
year or for any prior limitation year and the county has not at any time maintained a defined
contribution plan, a welfare benefit fund under which amounts attributable to postretirement

Section 16-25-151 Withdrawal from service; death of participant. (a) On withdrawing from service
pursuant to Section 16-25-14, a member who participated in DROP: (1) Who fulfilled his or
her contractual obligation pursuant to DROP shall receive a lump-sum payment from his or her
DROP account equal to the payments made to that account on his or her behalf plus interest.
Further, the member shall receive his or her accumulated contribution made during participation
in DROP, together with interest for the period of DROP participation as provided in subdivision

Section 19-3A-106 Conversion to unitrust. (a) Unless expressly prohibited by the governing
instrument, a trustee may convert a trust into a unitrust as described in this section if
all of the following apply: (1) The trustee has concluded that the conversion will enable

privilege tax on every corporation, limited liability entity, and disregarded entity doing
