Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Promote uniformity or compatibility in significant components of tax systems. 3. Facilitate taxpayer convenience and compliance in the filing of tax returns and in other phases of tax administration. 4. Avoid duplicative taxation. Article II. Definitions. As used in this compact: 1. "State" means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any territory or possession of the United States. 2. Section 32-12A-5 Registration card. The secretary shall provide to the registrant a registration card that includes the registration number, the date of registration, the make and serial number of the vehicle, the owner's name and address, and additional information the secretary may require. Information concerning each registration shall be retained by the secretary. The registration is not valid unless signed by at least one owner. Section 15-20A-9 Adult sex offender - Requirements prior to release. (a) At least 30 days prior to release, or immediately upon notice of release if release is less than 30 days, of an adult sex offender from the county jail, municipal jail, Department of Corrections, or any other facility that has incarcerated the adult sex offender, or immediately upon conviction, if the adult sex offender is not incarcerated: (1) The responsible agency shall inform the adult sex offender of his or her duty to register and, instruct the adult sex offender to read and sign a form stating that the duty to register has been explained. Political parties, as defined in Section 17-13-40, may obtain all voter registration information, except for voters' Social Security numbers and month and day of birth, in the possession of boards of registrars or judges of probate concerning registered voters in their jurisdictions and to access statewide voter registration information pursuant to Section 17-4-33. (a) All secondary metals recyclers subject to this article shall register with the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (ACJIC) by August 31, 2012, and shall pay an annual registration fee of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) to ACJIC.
