Section 17-9-11 Voter to sign name on poll list; exceptions. In every election held in this state, the voter shall sign his or her name on one of the poll lists or lists of persons who vote in the election, required by law to be maintained at each voting place; and no person shall record on this list the name of any voter for him or her, except where the voter, because of a physical disability, is unable to write his or her own name on the poll list; in which case an election official shall write the name of such voter on the list and shall sign his or her own name on the poll list on the same line with the name of the voter. Section 17-4-38 Dissemination of information on voter registration. (a) The Secretary of State shall ensure that all applicants obtain requested voter lists in a timely manner. Methods shall be established for the transmission of tapes, discs, or lists to any applicant. Section 17-4-3 County board of registrars to purge disqualified electors. (a) Each county board of registrars shall purge the computerized statewide voter registration list on a continuous basis, whenever it receives and confirms information that a person registered to vote in that county has died, become a nonresident of the state or county, been declared mentally incompetent, been convicted of any offense designated pursuant to Section 17-3-30.1 as a felony involving moral turpitude for the purposes of Article VIII of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901 since being registered, or otherwise become disqualified as an elector.
