Section 16-61-1 Legislative intent. The Legislature recognizes that the following public universities
in Alabama which grant baccalaureate degrees and are independently accredited by the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools - the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University

Section 16-5-8 Review, coordination, establishment, etc., of programs; transfer of credits;
Articulation and General Studies Committee. (a)(1) The Commission on Higher Education is authorized
to review periodically all new and existing programs and units of instruction, research, and
public service funded by state appropriations at the state universities and colleges and to
share with the appropriate governing board, through the president of the institution, and
state Legislature, its recommendations. (2) As a part of its program review process, the commission
shall enforce, monitor, and report on minimum degree productivity standards for all existing
programs of instruction at public two-year and four-year institutions of higher education.

Section 16-22-13 Cost-of-living adjustment for certain public education employees; miscellaneous
pay provisions. (a) The state Budget Officer shall allocate to the State Board of Education,
the boards of trustees of the public universities, the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Institute

Section 16-16-10 Disposition of proceeds of bonds. (a) The proceeds of all bonds, other than
refunding bonds, issued by the authority remaining after paying expenses of their issuance
shall be deposited in the State Treasury and shall be carried in the State Treasury in a special

Grant Program to advance the program objectives of participating state departments and agencies
by the awarding of grants to qualified community agencies, institutions, organizations and
