Section 29-1-26 Legislative double dipping prohibited. (a) This section shall be known and may be cited as the Legislative Double Dipping Prohibition Act. (b) Any other provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, and except as provided in subsection (c), a member of the Legislature, during his or her term of office, may not be an employee of any other branch of state government, any department, agency, board, or commission of the state, or any public educational institution including, but not limited to, a local board of education, a two-year institution of higher education, or a four-year institution of higher education. For purposes of this section, employee means any of the following: (1) An employee as defined in Section 36-27-1, or a teacher as defined in Section 16-25-1. Section 30-7-2 Minimum standards for domestic violence shelters. (a) The following minimum standards for domestic violence centers shall be used by the Department of Economic and Community Affairs to determine membership in the coalition or other qualified entity and eligibility for receiving funds administered by the Department of Economic and Community Affairs. Any domestic violence center seeking membership shall meet the following qualifications: (1) Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation created for the purpose of operating a domestic violence center; provided, however, it may be affiliated with a larger private organization, but must be a distinct entity with its own corporate structure and budget. (a) In determining the number of teacher units for the purpose of apportioning the state Foundation Program, one teacher unit or fraction thereof shall be allowed for the specified number of pupils in average daily membership as provided for in subsection (b), during the first 20 scholastic days following Labor Day of the preceding school year in the public schools. Section 40-29B-3 General criteria. (a) The department shall develop and implement a tax amnesty program in accordance with this chapter. The commissioner may adopt rules necessary for the implementation and administration of the program. The commissioner shall publicize the program in order to maximize public awareness of and participation in the program. The commissioner may publicize the program by contracting with any advertising agency within or outside the state and use public service announcements, pamphlets, mail notices, and print, television, and radio announcements. The publications shall operate to increase public awareness that the program will provide amnesty for taxpayers who have not been contacted by the department in the past two years concerning the tax type for which amnesty is being applied.
