Section 39-7-29 Authorization and procedure for enlarging of services furnished by authority. The authority shall not include in an enterprise in which it is engaged the furnishing of any services not named in the petition provided for by this chapter unless the furnishing of such additional services shall be submitted to and approved by the electors of the territory of such authority. (a) An interested person may petition the court to order protective placement or other protective services for an adult in need of protective services. No protective placement or other protective services may be ordered unless there is a determination by the court that the person is unable to provide for his or her own protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse.
