Section 16-44A-7 Representation of the board of directors members; meetings of board. (a) Board
members shall be chosen to represent each of the following segments or areas: (1) Executive
and Legislative Branches of state government, in the fields of education, finance, taxation,
and ways and means, local government, or economic development. (2) K-12 education, in some
of the following fields: teaching, administration or supervision, curriculum, or governance.
(3) Higher education. (4) Community leadership education. (5) Youth leadership and citizenship
education. (6) Economic development. (7) Local government. (8) Community, civic, philanthropic,
and other non-profit organizations. (9) Historical, patriotic, veterans, and cultural organizations.

Section 16-6F-6 Authorization of establishment; Alabama Public Charter School Commission; registration

Section 16-6F-7 Applicant proposals; conversion to public charter school; terms of charters;
contracts. (a) Request for proposals. (1) To solicit, encourage, and guide the development
of quality public charter school applications, every local school board, in its role as public
charter school authorizer, shall issue and broadly publicize a request for proposals for public

Section 41-15B-2.2 Allocation of trust fund revenues. (a) For each fiscal year, beginning October
1, 1999, contingent upon the Children First Trust Fund receiving tobacco revenues and upon
appropriation by the Legislature, an amount of up to and including two hundred twenty-five
