Section 38-9C-4 Rights. The rights of persons with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injury include, but are not limited to, all of the following: (1) The right to exercise the rights of citizens of the United States and the State of Alabama. (2) The right to access a full array of services appropriate for them as individuals. (3) The right to inclusion in the community. (a) The Legislature finds a compelling public interest in ensuring that schools are made safe and drug-free for all students and school employees. The Legislature finds the need for a comprehensive safe school and drug-free school policy to be adopted by the State Board of Education. (a) The Department of Industrial Relations shall establish an Ombudsman Program to assist injured or disabled employees, persons claiming death benefits, employers, and other persons in protecting their rights and obtaining information available under the Workers' Compensation Law.
