Section 16-46-6 Permit for solicitation of students. (a) No person representing any private
postsecondary institution or other individual or organization offering courses in this state,
or from a place of business in this state, whether located within or outside this state, shall
sell any course or solicit students therefor in this state for a consideration or remuneration
unless a permit is first secured from the Department of Postsecondary Education, with the
exception of agents representing schools exempted under Section 16-46-3. If the agent represents
more than one school not exempted under Section 16-46-3, a separate permit shall be obtained
for each school represented. The application for a permit shall be made on forms to be furnished
by the Department of Postsecondary Education and shall be renewed every two years. (b) Upon

Section 16-64-1 Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms have the
following meanings: (1) MINOR. An individual who, because of age, lacks the capacity to contract
under Alabama law. Under current law, this means a single individual under 19 years of age
and a married individual under 18 years of age, but excludes an individual whose disabilities
of nonage have been removed by a court of competent jurisdiction for a reason other than establishing

Section 26-21-2 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall
apply: (1) MINOR. Any person under the age of 18 years; (2) EMANCIPATED MINOR. Any minor who

Section 45-10-232 Fee; Sheriff's Law Enforcement Fund. (a) In Cherokee County, the fee for
issuance of a permit to carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the person as
provided in Section 13A-11-75, shall be ten dollars ($10) for an individual age 65 and over

34-30-23 or Section 34-30-24 shall be exempt from any examination provided for in Section

Section 16-1-44.1 School security personnel and school resource officers. (a) As used in this
section, the following terms have the following meanings: (1) RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
A person who was a law enforcement officer and retired in good standing from a federal, state,
or local law enforcement agency with at least 20 years of law enforcement experience. (2)
SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER. A person who is certified by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards
