Section 16-26A-4 Board of directors generally. (a) There is hereby created a board of directors for the school, sometimes hereinafter referred to as the "board." The board shall be composed of 21 members as follows: (1) The State Department of Education assistant state superintendent in charge of curriculum development, or his or her designee. (2) The Chancellor of the University of Alabama System, or his or her designee. (3) The President of Auburn University, or his or her designee. Section 45-24-20.02 Levy of tax; disposition of funds; collection; records. (a) This section shall only apply to Dallas County. (b) For purposes of this section, the term liquor shall have the same meaning as ascribed to the term in subdivision (15) of Section 28-3-1. (c)(1) Notwithstanding any provision of law and pursuant to Section 104 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, there is imposed, in addition to all other taxes, including, but not limited to, municipal gross receipts license taxes, a five percent sales tax on liquor sold by entities licensed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. Section 11-99A-21 Failure to pay assessments. If the owner of any land within the district fails to pay an assessment when due, time being of the essence, the board may commence proceedings to foreclose on the land as follows: (1) The board shall send a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, United States first class mail to the last known address of the owner. The address of the owner as shown in the tax assessment records of the tax assessor or revenue commissioner for the county in which the property is located shall be sufficient. (b) A district for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services may be formed in any unincorporated area of the county pursuant to this section subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified electors who vote at a referendum election for that purpose in the proposed district and for the approval of the mandatory annual dues of the district.
