Section 23-1-352 Definitions. For the purpose of the laws of this state relating to aeronautics,
the following words, terms, and phrases shall have the meanings herein given, unless otherwise
specifically defined, or unless another intention clearly appears or the context requires
otherwise: (1) AERONAUTICS or AERONAUTICAL ACTIVITIES. The science and art of flight including,
but not limited to, transportation by aircraft; the operation, construction, repair, or maintenance
of aircraft, aircraft power plants and accessories, including the use, repair, packing, and
maintenance of parachutes; the design, establishment, construction, expansion, operation,
improvement, repair, or maintenance of airports, restricted landing areas, or other air navigation
facilities including the aerial and ground approaches thereto; and instruction in flying or

Section 32-7A-12 Suspension of registration. (a) The department shall suspend the vehicle registration
of any motor vehicle determined to be in violation of Section 32-7A-4, including any motor
vehicle operated in violation of Section 32-7A-16 by an operator other than the owner of the
vehicle. Neither the fact that, subsequent to the date of verification or violation, the owner
acquired the required liability insurance policy nor the fact that the owner terminated ownership
of the motor vehicle shall have any bearing upon the required suspension. (b) The registration
of any motor vehicle registered in this state shall be suspended upon the department receiving
notice of the conviction of the operator of the motor vehicle in another state of an offense

Section 9-3-17 Certification as volunteer fire department. (a) The term volunteer fire department
shall apply to and be used to define an organized group of area residents who meet the following
requirements for personnel, training, and equipment: (1) The group shall be organized and
incorporated under the laws of the State of Alabama as a nonprofit organization or as an authority
of a municipality, fire district, or other legal subdivision. The group shall actively respond
to fires and other emergencies and shall have a clearly defined coverage area recognized by
the Alabama Forestry Commission and the county fire association where the group is located
as the primary fire protection provider for the coverage area. The group shall be comprised
of not less than four members and shall provide monthly emergency response reports to the
