Section 37-4-1 Definitions. Unless otherwise specified, when used in this article, these terms shall have the following meanings: (1) COMMISSION. The Alabama Public Service Commission. (2) COMMISSIONER. A member of the commission. (3) MUNICIPALITY. Any municipal corporation organized under the laws of this state. (4) PERSON. Such term shall mean and include individuals, associations of individuals, firms, partnerships, companies, corporations, municipalities, governmental agencies, their lessees, trustees, or receivers appointed by any court whatsoever, in the singular number as well as in the plural. (5) NONUTILITY. Any federal agency, instrumentality, or corporation, owned by the United States, and any corporation or joint stock company in which the United States or any of its departments, establishments, or agencies, owns more than 50 percent of the voting shares of stock of such corporation or joint stock company. Section 32-1-1.1 Definitions. The following words and phrases when used in this title, for the purpose of this title, shall have meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section, except when the context otherwise requires: (1) ALLEY. A street or highway intended to provide access to the rear or side of lots or buildings in urban districts and not intended for the purpose of through vehicular traffic. (2) ARTERIAL STREET. Section 34-5A-3 Composition of board; compensation; meetings; rules and fees; investigations; Alabama Behavior Analyst Licensing Board Fund. (a) The Alabama Behavior Analyst Licensing Board is established within the Department of Mental Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities. Section 34-13-56 Grounds for revocation, suspension, or refusal to issue or renew licenses, etc.; hearing; fines. (a) The board may refuse to license any person or establishment for violation of this chapter. If the board refuses to issue, grant, or renew a license based on a violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, violations listed in subsection (c), the licensee or prospective licensee may request a public hearing before the board to appeal the action of the board.
