Section 45-11-245.03 Authorization of levy of use tax. (a) The governing body of the county
is hereby authorized to levy and impose excise taxes on the storage, use, or other consumption
of property in the county as hereinafter provided in this section: (1) On the storage, use,
or other consumption in the county of tangible personal property, not including, however,
materials and supplies bought for use in fulfilling a contract for the painting, repairing,
or reconditioning of vessels, barges, ships, other watercraft and commercial fishing vessels
of over five tons load displacement as registered with the U.S. Coast Guard and licensed by

Section 11-51-200 Levy of sales tax authorized; exemption; construction. The governing body
of any municipality within the State of Alabama may provide by ordinance for the levy and
assessment of sales taxes, parallel to the state levy of sales taxes as levied by Sections
40-23-1, 40-23-2, 40-23-2.1, 40-23-4 to 40-23-31, inclusive, 40-23-36, 40-23-37, except for

Section 40-2B-2 Alabama Tax Tribunal. (a) Statement of Purpose. To increase public confidence
in the fairness of the state tax system, the state shall provide an independent agency with
tax expertise to resolve disputes between the Department of Revenue and taxpayers, prior to
requiring the payment of the amounts in issue or the posting of a bond, but after the taxpayer

Section 45-49-71.04 Levy and collection of additional privilege license taxes, excise taxes,
and sales and use taxes. (a) Subject to any limitation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901,
or of any general law of this state, the Mobile County Commission or other like governing
body shall have the power to levy and collect additional privilege license taxes, excise taxes,
